What a great way to start out the new school year today at North Side! We had packed worship services with passionate worshipers – what else can you ask for? We started a new series entitled “Intentional Discipleship” geared towards people who are ready to stop being stagnant and start growing in Christ!
Some service highlights were having Ben Ridgeway, one of our high schoolers, pray for all students, teachers, and faculty members going into their mission field tomorrow. It was great having a video testimony of my buddy, Brian Rackley, who was a self-proclaimed “back row Baptist” until God called him into ministry. This morning he wasn’t with our church anymore because he has accepted a call to preach at Bethany Baptist. The whole service was geared around following Christ with no turning back.
Today, we worshiped to:
- You are Good – Israel Houghton
- O the Blood – Gateway Worship
- I Stand Amazed – North Side Worship
- I Have Decided – Phil Wickham
We had a full stage of some wonderful worship leaders today! You might have noticed some new faces. God continues to unite our church and develop our worshipers. Our team was passionately worshiping Jesus today which led to passionate worshipers out there. I thought the roof was about to come off a time or two! While our schedule doesn’t change until Sept. 4th, today was a taste of what united worship looks like at our church. It was united for the purpose of the glory of God! We wouldn’t have it any other way!
Jeff’s message was so spot on. His desire to develop disciple makers in this church from God’s Word was impacting and contagious. The invitation was overwhelming to think about how this city would change if all those people would follow Jesus’ command to go and make disciples. We often hear Matt. 28:18-20 on a global missions day, but the Great Commission is to start here and go to the ends of the earth. Same call.
After services, we had a Connect lunch with 60-70 people joining our church through membership! It was amazing seeing how God is working on the unchurched, dechurched, rechurched, and everything else to make this body His church! Can’t wait to see what happens next.
No turning back, no turning back.
